Due to the low participation, despite the commitment of the Municipality, it was decided to suspend the edition of the Ruta de la Tapa 2016, thanking the sponsors and the establishments that participated in the previous editions for their collaboration. (ORIGINAL ARTICLE)
Registrations are open for locals who want to participate in the fourth edition of the Ruta de la Tapa. The Ruta de la Tapa is an event organized by the Concejalia de Comercio with the support of the Concejalia de Turismo, which has existed since 2013.
It is a competition open to all the establishments in the municipality of La Oliva that are dedicated to catering.
Each participating establishment will have to prepare 2 tapas (one cold and one hot), for a fixed price to the public of 2.50 Euros for each tapa, including a drink (water, soft drink, beer, wine), which must be made available to the customer EVERY FRIDAY, from April 29th to June 24th, 2016. Each time a customer tastes both “tapas” presented in the competition, they can vote on the quality, presentation and flavor of each one, by means of a special voting folder.
From March 10 to April 14, 2016 inclusive, registration is open for locals interested in participating in the 4th Ruta de la Tapa La Oliva 2016.
Registration can be done through the website of the municipality of La Oliva (click here) where you can find the instructions and the application form, which can be delivered to: Tenencia de Alcaldía, Ayuntamiento del La Oliva, Oficina de Turismo on the Avda.
Marítima de Corralejo or at the Castillo del Tolstón Information Point. The participating establishments will have to develop 2 “Tapas”: one cold and one hot, at a fixed retail price of € 2.50 each, which includes tapas and a drink (beer, wine, soft drink, water). Since 2015, there has also been a “Postres” (Dessert) competition as a novelty, so that pastry shops and cafés can also participate to show their delicacies accompanied by a good coffee, chocolate or herbal tea.
A designated judge will choose the winners in the categories of “Best Cold Tapa”, “Best Hot Tapa” and “Best Postre”.
Both winners will be elected among the 3 finalists designated by the public participating in the voting.
The judge will also be the person in charge who will have to announce the prize to the best establishment, based on the average of the votes of the public, based on both tapas and service.
At the same time there will be several prizes for consumers who have completed 30% of the Ruta. Consumer customers will be able to vote via a folder where the establishment will stamp at the time of payment.
To be valid, each participant must taste Tapas in at least 30% of the establishments registered for the competition.
The judge and the public will have to take into account, when casting the vote, some evaluation criteria such as: the quality of the ingredients of the Tapa, the presentation of the same, the flavor and the presence of local products.
The “Concejalia del Comercio” will recognize the work of the award-winning establishments, through the placement of a distinctive plaque, in a visible place of the premises, which identifies its “Excellence”.
