right and you&#8217;ll see a striking series of aligned volcanoes, including the famous <strong>Calder\u00f3n Hondo<\/strong>. Climbing to the top of this volcano is a unique experience, suitable for everyone, and will allow you to immerse yourself in the history and nature of Fuerteventura. <\/p>\n<h4><strong>A volcano steeped in history<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>These volcanoes were formed about 50,000 years ago, increasing the surface area of the island and bringing it closer to Lanzarote. In the process, the neighboring <strong>island of Lobos<\/strong> was also born. The Calder\u00f3n Hondo is one of the best-preserved volcanoes, with a crater that reaches a height of 278 meters.  <\/p>\n<h4><strong>How to Get There<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>To get to the Calder\u00f3n Hondo, follow the road from Corralejo to Lajares. Just before entering the village, you will find a roundabout near the <strong>Campo Municipal de F\u00fatbol in Lajares<\/strong>. Take the first exit on the right toward <strong>Majanicho<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<p>After less than a kilometre, you will find a parking space on the right, at the foot of the volcanoes. From there, the journey to the summit begins. <\/p>\n<h4><strong>The route: simple and for everyone<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The path that leads to the crater is simple and well marked, with stones lined up along almost the entire route. Here are the best routes to visit this stunning volcano: <\/p>\n<h4><strong>From Corralejo (North)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Distance<\/strong>: about 10 km.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Route<\/strong>: Take the FV-101 road towards Lajares. Just before arriving in Lajares, at the roundabout near the Campo Municipal de F\u00fatbol, take the first exit towards <strong>Majanicho<\/strong>. After less than 1 km you will find a parking lot at the foot of the volcano, from which you can start the walking route.  <\/li>\n<li><strong>Travel time<\/strong>: about 15 minutes by car.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>From Puerto del Rosario (Capital)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Distance<\/strong>: about 40 km.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Route<\/strong>: Take FV-1 north towards Corralejo. After passing Corralejo, follow the FV-101 towards Lajares. Continue on FV-1 towards Corralejo, then take FV-101 towards Lajares.
