ASEMCO is an association of entrepreneurs from Corralejo, La Oliva.
It was born in 2019 to solve the different problems with the Municipality of La Oliva, the delegation of the Government of the Canary Islands, the local Police, etc., in order to improve issues related to the equality of all, safety, health and everything related to both tourism and the Municipality.
On Friday 11 September, at 12.30 pm, ASEMCO has convened a meeting of citizens and workers in the tourism and hospitality sector, but not only.
Many gathered in front of the Palace of the Tenencia de Alcaldia in the Plaza de los Niños, to ask both the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and the City Council of La Oliva to respect the application of the compromised measures that could alleviate the economic burden of small businesses.
ASEMCO, on behalf of all the entrepreneurs of La Oliva, calls for the promises to be kept: – temporary extension for nightlife – tests for tourists – eliminate taxes for terraces, etc. (which cannot be used) – level playing field – live music (to help the island’s artists as well) Fuerteventura thrives on tourism and workers must receive help to get ahead.
All commercial activities, in every sector, improve the quality of Fuerteventura and helping them means not letting the island’s economy die.
