What to see: Las Playitas Fuerteventura

Las Playitas: Complete Guide to a Lovely Location in Fuerteventura
Las Playitas is a picturesque seaside resort located at the foot of a steep hill in south-central Fuerteventura on the east coast of the island.
This tiny village, located in the municipality of Tuineje just six kilometers from Gran Tarajal, is a charming and delightful corner of Fuerteventura waiting to be discovered.
At the entrance to the village, a colorful boat welcomes visitors, immediately announcing the authentic atmosphere of this pretty fishing village. The white houses with touches of blue climb up the hill, creating a suggestive panorama that enchants anyone who sets foot there.
The promenade of Las Playitas is perfect for a relaxing walk: the benches invite you to sit and admire the beauty of the coast, while the scent of the sea and the sound of the waves complete the experience.
Local gastronomy and traditions
For those who want to savor the traditional cuisine of Fuerteventura, Las Playitas offers two restaurants where you can enjoy dishes prepared with fresh and local ingredients. Among the specialties, there is no shortage of freshly caught fish, goat cheeses and typical desserts such as “quesillo”.
Sport and relaxation
Continuing along the coast, you reach a splendid and extensive volcanic sand beach, ideal for both relaxation and sports activities.

This sheltered bay offers shallow and generally calm waters, perfect for windsurfing, kayaking, and stand-up paddling. For those who prefer to stay on land, you can jog along the coast or take part in yoga classes organized by the local resort.
The beach is also dominated by a large resort that includes hotels, villas, swimming pools, playgrounds and gyms, making it a popular destination for athletes and those looking for an active holiday. The resort is famous for hosting sporting events and training camps dedicated to disciplines such as triathlon.
Explorations in the surroundings
Just six kilometers from Las Playitas is the famous Entallada Lighthouse, a must-see for anyone visiting the area. From here you can admire magnificent views of the sea and the Sierra de Cuchillos de Vigán, a protected area declared a Natural Monument. The lighthouse is the closest point to Africa of all the Canary Islands and is easily accessible by car via a scenic road.
Another attraction in the surrounding area is Gran Tarajal, a lively town with a picturesque harbour, a long golden sandy beach and plenty of bars and restaurants. Here you can immerse yourself in the local culture and visit craft markets or attend traditional events.
